Plumbing quote - advice

I'm getting the toilet under the stairs removed and putting a washing machine in its place. I'm putting a dishwasher into the space where the washing machine used to be. I've been told this is a relatively simple job yet I've had a quote of €400 for this. Could this be right?!

Depends - does it include the electrical work required? There won't be a 13A socket in the existing downstairs toilet. The plumbing parts seems straightforward - probably only an hours work in that.

It doesn't include the electrical work. There happens to be a socket in the existing toilet that previous owners had installed. Given that it's a hours work is €400 steep?

Yes its steep if its only plumbing. I would expect no more than 250-300
