Entrapment - they'll prosecute you for not having lights when you turn up - this "initiative" will quickly pay for itself :D
(I know, lighting up time is not until after 5 this evening ...)

Did anyone show up there? I was cycling up that way and 2 ambulances screamed by before pulling in to a halt at the bus stop at the flyover. There looked to be many garda vehicles and what seemed to be the front cab of an artic on the grass. I turned right over the flyover and didn't rubberneck. I thought it might have been a incident rehearsal as it didn't look real, but does anyone know what happenned.
I did feel bad though as for the first time in ages I cycled on the stretch of road there rather than the crap bike path - as I like to keep the bike counter honest - and then the ambulances hurtled past while I was in their lane.

I would have been there about ten minutes earlier as the sirens came down the dual carriageway as I was heading back up to Stillorgan. Hope it wasn't serious:(

Regarding the give-always, they had hi viz vests and rucksack covers and also those dangly hi brightness LED lights. Gift!

Part of the Dublin Casualty Reduction Implementation Plan apparently. Goodies care of the RSA and NTA amongst others. Stats show that October and November are bad months for deaths and serious injures to Vulnerable groups like cyclists. The plan is that if we get noticed we're less likely to get hurt.

They were at UCD a few days ago too, and Dame street at the start of the month. Keep checking twitter as they're likely to pop up again soon.

Headed up round 4:10. There were about 5 or 6 guards there handing out the hi-vis jackets and LED lights, more like keyrings than anything I'd but on a bike but shur free is free :). There was a photographer there also.

Yup was coming out of a lecture at 5 and got kitted out. Handy as I'd lost my high vis vest earlier in the week. Lights are small but are affective. Most of the cyclists on my way home had them.

One of my rear lights fell off the bike on Tuesday night. One of the lads I was with noticed and told me so I went back along the road and found it, picked it up and went to put it onto my back pocket where it would not fall off and it slipped from my hands and smashed!
