99 passat tdi fuel problem

    Hi
    I serviced my passat today, changed the fuel filter its the old type that screws up into t-bar. took a few mins to get car going after doing it which is normal. However car is getting really hard to start now its takin about a minute of turning key to start feels like its having to fill filter everytime it starts!! any ideas anyone what could be wrong?

    was grand until i changed filter though was starting first tip even on cold days!

    Have you plumbed it up right. Sounds like airs getting in. You may have damaged a hose. If it has a clear piece of fuel line you could check for bubbles.

    reckon u mite be rite about the fuel line had quite a bit of wrestling to do do to get filter loose mite have damaged a line would explain how air getting in

    It sounds like it. Replacement fuel lines can be got cheap enough. I'd say it's best done straight away if it is that for the sake of your fuel pump, starter etc.

    :D Nothings ever easy. I've done far worse than that. It's hard to know when to be gentle and when to get thick and get the hammer.
