    Greetings folks :)

Been a follower of this thread for a few weeks with the intention of buying a new laptop. My Compaq of 7 years(!) has served me well but is showing its age at this stage.

Based on what I've read here I've whittled preference down to Lenovo/Asus.

    Budget: tops out at €600
Mobility: Not a worry, tend to leave it in one place at home.
Intended use: Web browsing, uploading of photos. OH is a teacher so use of MS Office programmes. Gaming a definite no-no.
Warranty: Standard guarantees do me fine.

Due to my location, Irish/UK retailers ain't an option but I am interested in what those-in-the-know make of this one on sale from a German retailer with operations here in Spain.

    Processor: Intel Core i7-3612QM
    Ram: 4GB
    Hard drive: 500GB
    Graphics card: NVIDIA® GeForce® 610M DDR3 1GB
    Screen: 15.6" HD LED
    Bluetooth 4.0
    Connections: 1 x USB 3.0, 2 x USB 2.0, HDMI
Op System: Windows 7 Home Premium

    Comes in at €599.

    Thoughts, anyone?
