hi, we got a loaner from vw today, petrol light was on when we got it anyway missus was gonna put in petrol on the way to work but the petrol cover wont open we have tried everything, central locking open /close boot open /close but it wont open it is the type that you press the cover on the left and it spriongs open, there is no button to open anywhere in the car not on the door beside the passenger seat or near the handbrake, and there is no manual release in the boot ( i was under the impression that there was a manual release, some kind of string with a ringpull on the end for emergencies) anyone got any ideas.

There isn't an emergency release but you can access the lock pin from the inside of the boot. There's a pump in the boot that powers the locks, there's a lever on this that will open the flap too.
