Interested in purchasing an entry level GPS for a road bike, and I have been looking at the Garmin Edge 200. Anyone got any thoughts on this or any comparable entry level GPS devices?

Have been searching for best price and Halfords do it for 130 Euos compared to Chain Reaction's 147. Anyone know of better price than 130?

Personally I would try to wait until you can stretch to a 500! For me a HRM would be an essential and from what I understand the "elevation" measurement in the 200 is also a bit iffy! But if you're not worried about either of these things then the 200 is probably a very good buy!

You might try handtec ; although I would be inclined to get a 500 with heart rate/cadence ; cost me 250ish delivered

http://www.handtec.co.uk/search.php?xSearch=edge+200 ; says its 93 sterling plus delivery - probably around 130 euro or so with delivery.

I have the 200, got it for a very reasonable price S/H on here, it does everything it claims very well, yes cadence and HR would be nice to have but if the lack of them isn't a dealbreaker for you then I'd say go for it.

At one stage I did lust after a 500 but having seen many of the folks I know have trouble with theirs (Garmin do seem to have a no quibble replacement policy, don't know if that's because they are a good company or they know that there is a general problem with some units) and getting a cheapo Aldi HR watch I'm happy enough.
