Anyone remember in the mid 70's there used to be cut out figures of Knights in armour on the back of Corn Flake Boxes, you cut them out and put their swords and lances in their hands. :)

Ah yes indeed I do, and I had forgotten all about them until I read your message. I loved making them. I think they had a series of animal heads too.
God I'm fightin' back a tear here! Simple days of fun eh?

They had animal heads in the early 90's, and dinosaurs aswell, i remember the pterodactyl head anyway

The animal heads were mid 80's's.I'd forgotten about them till now. You'd cut them out of the back of the box and assemble them. There was a baboon, zebra, lion and elephant I think.

Don't remember the knights, but I made the dinosaurs and safari animals. I know my thoroughly modern children would much prefer to gobble their way through a kilo of cornflakes to get one of these instead of a free (+contribution towards P&P) bowl/DVD/book. In fact, we'd have to buy double the amount of cereal because we've barely enough cardboard to satisfy their cut-up-and-make-something demands as it is.

Anyone remember these hologram cards that came with cornflakes in the mid 80's that showed various dinosaurs and when you tilted the card it changed to a modern day animal? The petrodactyl changed to an albotraus and T Rex to a tiger.

Remember them? I think I still have them :)

I also have an a4 envelope with a carboard town you sent away for when you collected the vintage cars and trucks (like Cadburys and stuff) in my attic. Yep, I horde things.

Don't remember those tbh, I do remember Weetabix had Flash Gordon film cards (and stickers I think) inside the packets. Wish I had them now, love that film!

Slightly off topic sorry but I used to Work as a Binman in the late 80's early 90's and I used to tear off any tokens on cereal boxes thrown out, I was very popular with all the local kids, as they'd ask me for the required amount of tokens so they could get their Captain Scarlet/Weetabix etc, Model cars without having to eat all the cereal, I always had hundreds of them.

I remember those Flash Gordon ones. Also Weetabix did cards to tie in with the first Star Trek film. There's a full set of them going here for 70GDP.Makes me wish I'd hung onto mine.

    Yeah, I remember them.
pics of the animal heads & other freebies here http://www.flickriver.com/photos/28773898@N04/tags/cereal/

I think some cereal packs here had flexible vinyl records on them too.

Not this, but similar, I think it was black vinyl

I remember as well at one point in the mid 80's Kellogs Cornflakes had these little plastic models of airliners that came in the packets. There was the DC Haviland,Concord, Boeing 747 and a couple more. They came in little parts like Matchbox models and slotted together though there was no glueing involved. The models themselves were very small and they all came in primary colours either red blue green and possibly yellow.

Got the full set of cards! Took an age to get them all, trading them in school, the T Rex one was the hardest to find. Have the Kelloggs Ford Van, but lost the postcard that I got apologising for the delay in sending it out, there was a mighty back-log of orders!
The also did in-packet little boats and submarines powered by baking soda.
Rice Krispies did a similar van to Corn Flakes and a 1920s London Bus. Later on there were 1920s and 1930s vintage trucks and van offers but they were crappier and cheaper (Corgi) than the original Matchbox van.
Denny sausages had an offer with a decent little van maybe 10 years ago.

Wow!,I'd totally forgotten about the boats and subs that were powered with baking soda.Used to have a great time with them in the bath.
Edit:Seen them now in the flicker photos wasen't able to get them up earlier. Those Corgi cars look ace.I don't remember them.

Kellogs Cornflakes also did these Simpsons heads,I think they were supposed to go on the spokes of bikes but I might be wrong. They're a bit more recent than some of the other stuff featured here maybe from 10 years ago.I diden't manage to get them all, missed out on Lisa and Maggie.

Well done! I'd completely forgotten that but had them all at the time. Remember the animal heads as well but didn't like them as much.

While clearing out my attic I found a tin of things I got from cereal packs. I have a few models of stringray and the fish boat, thunderbird 1 and 5 and for me, best of all, was a Transformer Dragstrip from wetabix still in it's packaging :D
