I was there in September... I can think of better places to live!

I think I'll just maintain, but how do you know when you're at your genetic peak?

I would say 99% of people never reach their genetic potential before either going to the dark side/giving up training/changing priorities.

    this is not true

with a great diet plus consistent workouts etc 6 years and you will see it

  • Site Banned Posts: 46 eggwhitelad

and 6 years is still a long time

say a 24 starting out waiting 6 years to achieve it..

it would have alot more use for him in his early twenties than his 30's when he is settled down etc

then why did you say 3-4 years? I agree that Hitting the upper limits of what your capable of is highly ambitious for most people given the slow rate at which you can build muscle.

On average you start too lose production of HGH and hence muscle mass in your 30's . Theres no reason to ever stop training. It's better than turning into a blob.

I know i wouldn't stop but i do reckon the motivation to "maintain" will be a very boring one..

Im 22 now training 3 years 92kg now

reckon I might jump on the "creatine" within a few year what about yous

    Ahhhh.....say what now?

    1. Define slow with regard to 'building muscle'?

    2. Would love some more info on HGH levels decreasing and that it's responsible for loss of muscle mass in your 30's...you must be really banging away in the laboratory and punching out some cutting edge research data because this is new to me?

What part of what I said is not true and what has the above got to do with it?

As I said 99% of people never reach their genetic potential before either
    1) going to dark side
    2) stopping training
    3) changing training priorities

He didn't say people can't reach their genetic potential, he said 99% of people don't. Which is a generalisation but most likely close to being correct.

    1. Slow in regards to what.. you're right , well Slow in regards to how quickly you can gain fat. For gaining muscle On average a few pounds a month. For Fat? Heaps more. The article below has lots of studies cited. If you can find different I'd be happy to read it.

    http://muscleevo.net/how-fast-can-you-build-muscle/#.UJptS2ePkeA

    Another study I found http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8201909

    I'll summarise this one.
groups of lifters gained between 0.7 and 3.5 lbs of muscle, on average, after a 12-week weightlifting program. The difference in muscle mass gains were largely the result of body type. If you are thin and find it hard to put on weight, your progress will be slow. Over a period of years, however, your muscle growth might be dramatic.

I think it would be fair enough to say that Majority of people who join gyms Give up after a few weeks months, I know people with gym memberships who have never gone more than once.

    2. As for the HGH , lots of Sources listed at the end of that article too.

    http://au.askmen.com/daily/austin_150/155b_fashion_style.html

    3. No need to be so attacking. I am banging away in the labratory , But I research Bionics , Advanced materials and Nano Electrodes. and only do weight training and fitness as a Hobby ;)

In all seriousness I am trying to work out whether this is supposed to be hilariously funny or whether you are being serious...in which case is it incredibly sad?

I am going to go with hilariously funny and give you the benefit of the doubt.

What to do AFTER hitting my genetic peak is literally my biggest worry.

Might lose all my muscle then start again!

If I ever ever did Id buy very tight t shirts and strut around

might be the only option you have if you keep going like that and get banned.

OP has been sitebanned, let's leave it there.
