Hi, am working on setting up a community garden and need advice on the financial end of things. How much would it be (ish......../approx) to lease 2 acres of land in a village from a Council, and for how long would ideal lease term be etc. Also any advice appreciated on 3 year projected profit and loss and cash flow accounts for same. As the project will be for the community (profits reinvested in the project) where is best place to access funding/grants etc? Any advice appreciated (the good and the bad) from the number cruncher green fingered gurus on the site, please............ Feel free to pm me

Might be worth meeting up with people who have already set up a community garden.
Too many questions to answer on a forum like this.

The county council should be able to supply you with rainwater butts and composting bins...(thats if Phil Hogan hasnt stepped in yet :mad:).

Also try local builders providers and gardening centres for sponsering you with some "freebies" for the project and they can have their name listed as a sponsor of the community garden.

You could also talk to some paint companies about some sponsership.

Dulux and AIB sponser the farm and garden centre for the blind and visually impaired in Dublin........and its a fantastic place to visit too.Really is fantasticly well laid out.
