I picked up a pair of Salomon Mission Cruise boots for €65 at the end of last season, I got them on the last day so I didn't get a chance to try them out. Just wondering if anyone's had these boots and that they thought of them? :)

StormGazer.11; Which version? And how tall & heavy are you also ski ability

There should be a number on the side to indicate the flex 70-100/120? If they are the 12/13 version they will just have RS followed by the number on the cuff of the shell?

General feedback - They are a boot aimed at comfort skiers, who require a wide last (Wide Feet/Big Calf's) Pretty solid performance, with comfort fit. Some of the versions have a pretty high end liner (100 & 200) model the rest have a fairly basiv bio-vent liner. You got a good value price for them regardless

I would recommend getting into S&R and getting foot beds put into them, the ones that come as standard are rubbish. (That goes for all ski boots)

Not entirely sure what version they are, I can't see a season on the tag but at the price I picked them up for in Intersport I doubt they're the 12/13 boot.

I'm pretty pigmy sized, only 5"8, and I weigh about 11 stone. I'm handy enough on skis, for the skiing I do it all depends on who I go with. The group I'm going with at Christmas are extremely experienced so it'll be a lot of off piste and powder (conditions allowing).

I tried on a rake of boots when I was over, I was skiing in a womens pair of Atomic, haven't clue what boot it was but it served me well. These Salomons were the first pair I tried on to buy and after a tour of all the shops in Mayrhofen and about 30 pairs later they were by far the most comfortable. I'm praying I didn't f**k up and get the wrong pair. :( Although even if I had to bin them after this season €65 and a season isn't a huge loss :D

You may have hit the jackpot!! Flex is 75 which is perfect for an intermediate skier with roughly spot on for some one of your stature..

Fusion Heat mouldable liners (higher end liner in these boots) which you can get done with your foot beds :) All Buckles have Micro Adjustments which are going to make fit easier

Absolute sweet spot boot for a decent intermediary skier looking to get better.

Now go get some footbeds and get them moulded

Actually Fattes, is S&R the only place that do the footbeds? I'm down in Cork (99% sure nowhere down here has them). What about getting them online? and what would the story be with getting them moulded like is it possible to do it at home? I'd much prefer to get up to S&R but with work and college I'm seriously doubting I'll get to pop up before I go :/

Unless there is somwhere in Cork but I am not sure? Any shop that does good quality footbeds should be able to oblige.

Snow and Rock and Great outdoors in Dublin, it could be done quick enough in resort to.

Moulding the liners requires a special heater, unless the store sells boots they wont have it. The liners take about 30 minutes, 15 minutes to heat 15 minutes to set.

Footbeds will take a little longer

Or you could take my Dads approach and use a blow lamp  Please do not do this :D

A pair of Superfeet should be decent enough (you might not even need a pair of 'extra' footbeds) and you'll be able to get these in most outdoor stores.
