A woman in Ohio has been ordered to wear an 'idiot' sign after driving on a footpath to avoid a school bus picking up children.

Shena Hardin, 32, will have to stand at a junction as a warning to others, after she was repeatedly caught on camera driving dangerously.

The bus driver captured her in the act on his mobile phone and then contacted police, who lay in wait on September 11

Actually it would b really good to have an "I" plate that you can be made show on your car for six months if a judge decides.

They have an E plate in Australia. If you are caught drink driving you can pay a BIG fine to get your license back but must display the E sign. Everybody knows you are a convicted drink driver. The Shame of it.

    Effective though?

I don't think so - if a driving offence is serious enough for the driver to lose their licence then they should not be able to get out of that through payment of a fine. That is effectively a different law for the rich and one for the poor.

Standing at a junction wearing an idiot sign? Funny, but no...it might wash in America where they don't care about such things but I think it would constitute a breach of human rights as a cruel and unusual punishment.

They really don't like any messing about near school buses over there.

Not driving related but I think it is in Spain if a debt collector calls to your door the dress up in a frog costume....if there is a fella in a frog costume outside your gaff your neighbours know you are not paying your bills...People tend to pay to get them to move on.....Shame works :)

FYI US school buses have stop signs attached to the sides and they come out when the doors of the bus open. Both sides of the street must stop until the children are let out and safely cross. That's what she was trying to evade.

From what I deduce she had done this repeatedly. Dumbass. Great punishment though, she didn't even slow down when she went on the path.

I remember seeing this video a while back and I couldn't believe it.

THe fact that this seems to have been a regular occurrence makes it 10 times worse. She got off very easy imo.
