Medieval II Total War 1.3 Patch Issue

    I got 1.01 and 1.02 installed without a problem.

But now when I go to install patch 1.03 I'm getting the following message pop up on me every time at the same spot, "Error: invalid or missing target C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\packs\data_0.pack. Update cannot be continued"

The title of the patch is apparently a 'Compatibility Patch'. For anyone's information, I don't have the Kingdoms expansion pack. Is that required for me to update to 1.03? Or do I need to worry about updating to 1.03 at all?

PS: I lost my CD key for this game and I was forced to input 1111-1111-1111-1111 into the serial box, the only thing I can't do in the game is go online. But I never did anyway. And I don't know if this could be a reason also.

I think you mean Patch 1.3 which is designed for Kingdoms Expansion

If I'm wrong then you should try www.twcenter.net its the hub of all TW games might have an answer or fix for you...plus you could update the game with a Mod if you like

Yeah, I managed to get a loan of the Kingdoms Expansion off my cousin, it updated to 1.3 automatically for me so I'm good to go. Thanks for the advice I'll know where to come back to if I get into this situation again :)

No. 1.3 is for vanilla M2TW to allow them to play online against folk with Kingdoms installed.
