    hi,

i have been looking through this forum trying to gain information. i am thinking of buying this camera from pixmania in dundrum.

anyone have any experience good or bad from this shop?

the package i am thinking of is 500euro

includes a 8gb memory card, a case and a tripod.

    is this a good deal?

any other cameras i should be considering?

i have Fujifilm FinePix HS20EXR Digital Camera but i want to get into slr photography!

    thanks for any advice!

I'd look at a Canon 600D or Nikon D5100 for a few quid more.

Ah, depends on the extras I suppose, they could be cheap rubbish.

The camera is €369 in Argos and qualifies for €40 cashback from Nikon.

Leaving €171 for the extras. I'd shop around for these. ;)

The 1100D is the Canon equivalent AFAIK, and worth checking out too.

i looked into the canon camera and found some bad reviews for it previously

is argos a good place to buy a camera, are they good for returns?

forgot to say in my original post in pixmania they also give you a 4 hour training course to show you all the functions of the camera... if i buy with argos would anyone know where i could find a course like this?

I've bought some electronics from Argos (Pentax DSLR, Samsung laptop, car stereo), and found them very easy to deal with when things go wrong.
