    It's a Mondeo.

Nothing wrong with Mondeos, but I don't like this model. That engine is not that powerful for a 2.2, and the power band is so narrow it bogs down every time you change up. Also, lower spec Mondeos ride much more comfortably on smaller rims and no sports suspension without losing out too much dynamically.

So, if you want Mondeo lower spec smaller engined models are a better buy, and if you want a fast premium diesel saloon there are much better cars than this.

I you are contemplating it make sure the injectors and high pressure pump has been replaced on it or you'll be looking at a big bill of around €1500-2000 when they go.

Otherwise they are a nice car to drive and there is plenty of go in them in as far as you get with any diesel, i didn't think it had the same poke as the Octavia vrs Tdi even though the power figures are similar. Tax is a pain on them though as you'd get a similar powered 2.0 Tdi passat in the lower 2.0 tax bracket and with the recent recall will have had new injectors fitted :)

Thanks for the replies, I have actually had a 1.8 Ghia petrol Mondeo here in Finland for the last 6 years, quite simply I want another one when I return to Ireland but was thinking something a bit more interesting than the one I´ve had but I can´t justify or probably afford to run an st220 and I don´t want a mk 4. Unfortunately I can´t find a single one for sale here in Finland so I could drive it as a comparison to what I have, Tax comes in at €885 and insurance quotes of about €650 upwards for me. I know Mondeos well and would be checking dmf and injectors are done or negotiating a reduction but at the moment this guy is willing to accept €7999, so hopefully would get it for even less than that.

A Ghia X TDCi is mechanically the same I think, just differs on trim, so if you could find one of those to test drive it might be worth a try.

Nice looking car but an Octavia VRS is probably a better bet as a performance diesel, unless you find a nice clean petrol example which would be a whole different story

Well, I contacted the seller by e mail 5 days ago with some questions and he still has not answered, so either it is gone or he doesn´t care.

Must still be driving it around to get it up to 60mpg+ as it won't go within an asses roll of that :D

Plenty of ST's about, rude not replying but some people have no manners.

Where? there are only 8 or so on Donedeal, but as was pointed out a high spec 2.2 D Ghia or tit x may be a nicer drive.

stforums.co.uk have a couple for sale. They are UK based though so not ideal.
Travel 170km a day in my own ST and I can't complain about the drive, I haven't driven the Titanium X but the Ghia would be a softer drive for sure.
All depends what you want really :D
