Tried to get my Baxi system 80 gas boiler working last night and a neon lred light flashes over the indicator to suggest that there is either a pump or low pressure problem with it. I was just wondering if its a case of needing a new pump is it a big job and how much would it cost and how long would it take an RGI to install a new one?

pump is about 100-120 euro can be done in ten mins or could take 2 hours depending on how fast or slow the system is to drain and fill

It's a system boiler so therefore the system will not have to be drained, just the boiler.
What is the pressure showing on the gauge?
If the boiler has not been used for a while, the pump may just be stuck. A bit of gentle persuasion usually gets them going.

make sure it doesnt just need a top up of pressure though. any gauges about

If the pump does need replacing, get a 6m head pump and not the standard 5m ones, especially of the house is 2 storey. Even all new boilers come with 6m ones ow as 5m just create poor circulation.
Btw, what pump & valves are you getting for €50?
    A Grundfos 25/50 costs €78 + vat and a pair of gate type pump valves will cost €16 + vat. A Grundfos 25/60 costs €110 +vat.

a wilo pump is about 40 and 2 gate valve style pump valves brings it to 50 euro inc. heat merchents, cork builder providers, international trading any of those. maybe i get bigger discount i donno

thats for a normal pump not inside boiler type.

had a oggle and the pump for that boiler is about 150 euro. you should be able to buy a grundfos normal pump and just change the motor and impeller. save a few bob

I have never seen a Wilo pump being sold for €40 incl vat nor did I see a pair of gate type pump valves for €10 incl vat, especially from HM. They must like you a lot!

i would not be confident replacing a pump myself so i presume i will just need to call out a plumber. Also would they be abe to source the part?

It can only be an RGI who can carry out the works. That is law, I am afraid.
