    Investigation launched after man's body is discovered in Waterford

    Gardai in Waterford are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man's body in a house in Waterford.

    The body of the 47-year-old was discovered in the house on Alexander Street in Waterford city at around 7.40pm yesterday.

    The man was pronounced dead at the scene and removed to the mortuary at Waterford Regional Hospital.

    The house has been sealed off for a technical examination and the office of the State Pathologist has been notified.

    A post mortem is due to take place later today.

    They done what is done when any body is found in suspicious circumstances (ie: no clear natural cause of death).
