Most excited about Down Royal tomorrow. I like Leah Claire in the grade c handicap hurdle. Backed her the day she fell at Fairyhouse last season, travelled very well and moved upsides four out before falling. Bit disappointing behind Snap Tie next time out but she has bags of speed and is fit from a couple of flat runs.

Think Realt Dubh can claim a race with plenty of question marks over some of the others.

Sizing Europe is easily the one to beat. The way he lost last year was very unfortunate and things are much more favourable this time around and with a run under him aswell.

True, but not a true three miler. Quito De La Roque not for me on that ground. Kauto Relko has plenty to prove. Realt Dubh unexposed and interesting at the trip

If he can win a G1 over 3 miles, who cares if he's not a true three miler?

Nothing but he'll be found out when he faces horses who get 3 well with conditions to suit

Il de re in the handicap in ascot 2.35?
Haven't researched the race yet but 11/4 at his weight...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

Seemed like the most under priced horse of the day to me

Underpriced as in he should be shorter? That's what I thought....

Rainbow Peak is back in the listed race at Newmarket.

No think he should be higher. It's a very competitve race

My pure reference was the race he beat on the flat overturn but didn't realize he had him nearly a stone...thanks for that
Beers with the lads have got in the way tonight :-) research will start in the AM...

Also desperate ground that day and Overturn ran an exceptional race under conditions.

I don't know about Ile De Re tomorrow. He's rightly favourite but I can't help but wonder why he was so short in the stayers at Champions Day. McCain has a habit of improving horses and Ile De Re really should be a good bit better than that handicap mark but maybe he's a touch too short for this. That said, I wouldn't like to oppose him.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,173 ✭✭✭hucklebuck

Too short for me too Ste, should be 5's at least.

I might do some sort of Super Heinz Yankee Goliath job on Une Artiste, Sizing Europe (if not softer than g/s), Silvinaco, Handy Andy, Cristal Bonus,Tidal Bay and possibly Overturn (novice chasing)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

I will want Handy Andy to run over a bit further than tomorrow hucklebuck but looking forward to him chasing.

Won't be backing Leah Claire at that price and I expect it to be lower with Pires possibly coming out.

Talab is one I will be backing though at 10/1

    Wheres Overturn running tomorrow?

    Wetherby, 1st race, over Birch.

    1/5

Hadn't seen the odds, that is a mental price. Thats him out of my megatron bet!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,408 ✭✭✭ft9

Nearly worth laying for a tenner at that price, 1st time over fences.

My megatron will be consisting of, Gold Ability, Sizing Europe, Talab and of course Liverpool!

Come on Liverpool!! Biggest certs ever

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,818 ✭✭✭ste2010

Tidal bay looks like an interesting bet.
I seen overturns price and thought to myself what is the world coming to!! I'd take odds he'd be a faller quicker than I'd take that price :-)
I'm due a megatron myself now huckle...Dylan Ross killed me last week on a 5 fold

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,838 ✭✭✭Nulty

The word megatron has influenced me to consider said bet. :D

Was just coming on to check this. RP said De Bromhead Tweeted to say he was a NR but he's still in the Betfair market

I'm glad they took the decision. Did it rain last night?

The morning line says Overturn is out too.

Done my multiple 4 folds and 6 folds.

It was only after I backed Silvianaco that I thought Nicholls runners last weekend did not run great save for Wonderful Charm

I did one bet so far. Took some of the 10/1 that was available on Talab.
Really like this one. He was very well backed a couple of starts back before being taken out, then ran a good second at at Killarney over hurdles. Ran a very good race two weeks ago at Cheltenham in a much stronger race than today off a mark of 108 from the English handicapper. Comes today off a mark of 99 with Mark Enright taking off 5 pounds

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,173 ✭✭✭hucklebuck

    Good shout on Talab Urban.

I quite fancy Join Together but might see how Nicholls earlier runners go.

Cape Express looks a decent bet at 7's, high in the handicap but looks classy. That race is very hot and I would not discount a big run from Raya Star.

I haven't seen Bog Warrior mentioned here at all yet.

Do you think Cristal Bonus has the beating of him?

Personally I think Bog Warrior will win it.

So far I have Bog Warrior, Silviniaco and Ile De Re in a patent.

I have Smad Place and and My Tents or Yours in two singles.

Will do a bit of an accumulator now with some better priced horses!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,173 ✭✭✭hucklebuck

While Bog Warrior looked impressive last year I can't help but think he needs very soft ground. Don't forget Flemenstar kicked him well and truly out the barn door last year too. My other worry with Bog Warrior is Tony Martin, you never know what his horses are going to do.

My only concern about Cristal is the form of the yard and won't hesitate to go in again if Nicholls string are going well.

Good to see such a hive of activity on the racing forum.

Only the one so far today in the shape of 12.45 Down Royal Forever Gold 8/1

    Thanks for the pointer.

I might have to include a few from the Breeders Cup to get enough selections for the Megatron!

I blindly added Michael flips but if the rest come in ill buy boards.ie and we can call it megatron.ie...
If I add one more it becomes a power ranger

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,408 ✭✭✭ft9

My Megatron consists of Gold Ability, Quito De La Roque, Talab and Man Utd -1.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,818 ✭✭✭ste2010

I also broke the tony Martin rule and backed Thomas Edison in the race pires became a non runner in, in the hope tony Martin gave him some dinner last night and did some training with him...another promising sort if he was with a consistent trainer maybe

go on the kato stone got him at 6 to 1 in running betting

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

Thought Realt Dubh was unlucky there. Probably wouldn't have won but Carberry was lucky to stay in the saddle two out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,838 ✭✭✭Nulty

Ile De Re looks too slow for 2m.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Silviniaco Conti was very impressive there!
