Crazy mom called the gardai

    Mate of mine (aged 21) is going out with a girl (aged 19) girls mother is a bit crazy and she doesn't like him very much, anyways on hallowen night they stayed out all night and her phone was off so the mother couldnt contact her, she flipped out and called the gardai telling them to find her daughter, the gardai stopped a train the couple were on at about 630am and advised the girl to go home. Was it legal for the gardai to do this ?

    Another 'mate or mine' boards story eh ? ;-) Short answer is No, it wasn't legal for gardai to do this, the girl is an adult and could have simply refused. Key word in your post is 'advised', she didn't need to heed it.

    I doubt the cops even stopped the train, Just doesn't sound right.
