The gigabyte is overclocked and running at a faster speed (this is something you could do yourself anyway). The sapphire probably has minimal extras in the box as it is labelled as "lite retail".

Wasn't there an issue with Sapphire 7850s, that they were faulty - it could be another maker and card that I am thinking of. The gigabyte has a few games, but the Sapphire might too as I think there's some AMD deal on where you get free games regardless of the maker if you are buying this generation of cards.

Both would be compatible with the motherboard - assuming that your power supply is up to it.

just thought that the gigabyte PCI-Express being 2.1 whilst the sapphire being 3.0 might be an issue with the motherboard?

nope both pci-e 3.0 devices and slots are completely backward compatible so there should be no issue what so ever and only gives you a very loss in bandwidth

You'll be fine with that PSU. Plenty of room.

IMH is correct. The only significant difference is more bandwidth available with a PCI-E 3 slot. A PCI 2.1 x16 slot still provides over double the needs of top end cards so you won't be held back either. It's a planning for the future thing.
