AA Autorepairs in Mill Lane Complex on the Tramore Rd is sound and I've found them cheap, but it's not really in the City, sorry.

Parts Depot have a mechanic on duty, near the NCT Centre, they were sound too.

I'd always recommend Peter's Garage on Blake's Lane (off Hennery's Road)
Good, reliable and cheap.
