Creepy kid's short movie about mirror universe screened during 1992 RTE strike?

During the RTÉ strike in 1992 I remember that they showed lots of random short films and music videos without continuity announcers or other rubbish – it was much better than the usual RTÉ programming for a kid at the time.

But there was one short film that they screened that I remember freaking the **** out of me at the time. It was about a boy who kept looking at his reflection – in mirrors, on a puddle, etc. – and wondering about the mirror boy in the reflection and how he was condemned to duplicate exactly what the real boy was doing. It ended with someone calling to the house, and the boy answers the door but his eyes are mirrors and the print on his t-shirt is reversed, with the final shot being the real boy trapped inside the mirror screaming. Pretty freaky **** for a 13-year-old to watch during the afternoon, and I was weirded out about the mirror in my bedroom for a while after it. Might have been one of the Goosebumps things but I'm not too sure about that.

If anyone can remember the name of it, or can find something about it online, I'd be very grateful! I've googled the bejaysus out of it but can't seem to hit on the right search string to find it.

Sounds kinda like this Goosebumps episode I remember seeing years ago (Was a huge fan of the books too so I remembered the title) Not sure if its what your looking for but the story was along similar lines if I remember correctly.

I reckon this is it, freaked me out big time as a kid, you wouldn't get away with it these days!

trendy88 – that's a similar story alright, but definitely not the one I'm thinking of. In fact, after looking up Goosebumps on Wikipedia I see that it didn't start until 1995 so it wasn't an episode of that. I was in my late teens by the time Goosebumps got going so I never really saw many of them. Nice to see some good creepy fare being made at the time for children though, when so much of children's tv is sanitised bland rubbish.

Sesudra – you sound pretty positive in your post, but you've embedded the YouTube link wrong or something. Only a big white square showing up here, and when I view the source of the page and try the link in the code it tells me it's a broken link. Could you try and post it again, or at least post the title of the video? Cheers!

Mother of christ! That's the one surely, the last few minutes of it. Absolutely terrifying for a young one to watch, even pretty creepy to watch now! For some reason I had it in my head that it was a US or Canadian production, which might explain why my multiple advanced search attempts on IMDb came up with nothing.

    Brilliant stuff, thanks!
