Hot water air lock

Hi, have read all the other posts on hot water airlock but unfortunately doesn't resolve my airlock so reaching out to see has anyone got any other suggestions/tips.

Drained the tank to do a repair job in the toilet and introduced an airlock. Tried forcing water up from the mains (mixer tap) and while this does lead to some water coming from the hot taps the water is cold and only lasts for about 5 seconds. Did this multiple times. Tried turning on all the taps with pump on and pump off - no joy. When all taps are open some water does come from hot tap but it's cold, if I turn off the cold taps and leave hot ones open no water comes out. I have a hot water pump (stuart turner) and a Joule boiler.

    Any suggestions please?

This might sound insulting and i am sorry if it does ,but did you turn off the cold feed to the cylinder and forget to re open it? Also sometimes older gate valves deteriorate and when you close them they can snap off leaving them stuck in the closed position

Don't worry - am not sensitive! Didn't touch the feeds at all!

Its possible the pump ran dry and has stuck. Does it sound like its really labouring when you try to run hot water?

Sorted - thanks for your help though. Needed to bleed the flow pipes at the pump itself and that did the trick!

Good to hear you got it sorted
