    Hi..

    Never heard of pc specialist until seeing this forum and hopefully i've learned a bit.

    Have the below spec and just want to see what people think. Looking for something that i can still comfortably use 2 years from now:

    In terms of what i will use it for, skype, downloading, storage (some tv series etc not a lot).

    What i'd like:
    Backlit keyboard, all the relevant connectors, decent webcam quality for skype etc.

    Am i onto a winner here? Is there anything i can take away without losing too much or something cheaper i should sub in?? Appreciate any help. By the way, including VAT and Delivery it is coming in at: £863

    Quite a powerful build indeed. Or rather a massive overkill for your needs (skype, watching TV shows). :D

    Save a few quid and select Kingston RAM, it's cheaper than Samsung.

    Why did you add an external sound card?

    The UltraNote does not have a backlit keyboard.

    As for your requirements, a Core i5 3210M and 8 GB RAM will be more than sufficient, seriously! ;)

    Have been snooping around here and was hoping you might have a look at this thread so thanks.

    Well yeah i agree it's overkill. I suppose im looking for something good so that i can have that laptop for a good while. I dont want everything to become too powerful for it.

    As for the sound card, i'd listen to a lot of music and watch TV a lot on it so thought it would be a nice addition. I am taking it that there's no need so?!

    On the backlit keyboard.. it looked like it had on the screenshots. Damn eyes!!
    Do any of these builds come with that do you know?
