    Hi all,
Fella I know has a case of these, they are Saga Field 32g in 6 & 7. I have to say they look very impressive with the high brass jacket, has anyone had any experience of them?

    Cheers
    Dalken

Somewhat unremarkable cartridge in that they didn't "wow" me. Used them years ago in 34g, 5s. Decent cartridge, and a good price, but i switched to Express and never bought them since.

Were they the 'export'? I think I saw them before. This fella tells me these are a premium shell, they certainly look it amd at 8.50 a box Id be very tempted, its been difficult to get shells this season the dealers tell me..

    Most likely.

They are a blue cartridge with high brass neck. Have a box of them, but they are in the other safe, and i'm too lazy to check.

I can buy Eley Grand Prix 32g high velocity for €9 a box or €85 for a carton. TBH when it comes to game shells I would rather buy something decent than go for lower quality brands..... When I pull the trigger and miss I know it was me and not the shell :)

I used to use 28 gramme saga before for pigeons and found them brilliant. at the min I have 36 gramme 7s I was using for duck and found them brilliant. I kinda gave up using express after using fibre wad ones they made and they were ****e. At the min I usually use rc s And saga and I find them on par with each other

I agree but these Saga cartridges look very good (they have the high brass case like on the Eley VIP) and come highly recommended, I know how good Eley are I've been using them almost exclusively for years.

I have a box of the Field 32G, 22mm of brass, green shell, got them some Yeats back off a dealer at the AGM in Kilkenny, haven't seen them for sale since in midlands. NORMAS C.I.P CAT No 1832 . "Due to the CSB powder, it provides high performance, high velocity and excellent patterns". GLOBALSHOT.COM stamped on brass.

A few of the lads that won them as Nov 1st prizes in the Club raved about them, said they were a great killing cartridge.

Im collecting a slab of them later on so, €80 for 32g 6 & 7 my mate is getting them at. He says that they are as good as he has ever shot with. Always used the Eley myself so Ill update this post tomorrow night as to how I find the Saga's, provided I get a shot at something of course.

Just an update on this if anyones interested...Used the Saga's this evening and on the first Nov and I have to say I'd have great confidence in them. Used 32g no. 6 this eve down the pond and took a fairly high duck down stone dead. They certainly have great range and killing power, recoil is moderate and they seem clean enough.. all in all I'm pleased I have a carton of them.

Used Saga for about ten years and they have been a great shell until last year.
My local gun dealer supplies them and I used to buy a slab for the season 32gram 7's Export 32, light green box, green shell with short brass.
Great killing cartridge but the slab I bought last year just didn't do the job. Every bird was a runner (every one!) so I switched to Eley Super Game and things are back to normal.

Sounds like the Field with the deep brass is a new effort, possibly a change in suppliers or manufacturers.
Sounds good, I might give them another look but I'm happy with the Eley at the moment.

Had a couple of boxes of export before these Fields are a way different shell. I find them better then the Eley supergame possibly as good as Grand Prix jurys still out. My pal bought them in Tullamore only cos they were way cheaper than remington and ur man had no Eley, he described them as a 'premium' shell, so far I wouldn't disagree with him

I should mention that the export 32 was only for the last year or two. I have seen several variations of the Saga 32gram. First if i remember correctly came in a brown box, black shell with the deep brass. Serious shell.
Never a problem until that last batch.
