Does anyone know of any historical archives that members of the public may use for historical research in the Longford area?

Does anyone know of anyone who might be willing to talk to a historian, for a local history project? The person would not need a qualification, just to be a local with a good knowledge of local history and willing to talk.

The Library has lots of local records to view.

Luke Baxter the chemist is very well up on the towns history as is Noel McGeeney from Harbour View.

+1 on the Library and Luke Baxter. Also, Jude Flynn (a member of the local historical society), would be well worth talking to if you want a local perspective... back in the early 1980s he began taping accounts given by elderly people from across the county of various events and happenings that occured during their lifetime.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try both options.
