Achilles Rupture

    Hi All

I injured my Achilles about a month ago playing soccer. I was running for the ball and went to ground with what seemed like a kick. After some rest and referrals to hospital they said it was a partial tear. A week later my GP sent me back to hospital for Ultrasound and referral to Orthopaedic surgeon as he was not happy with it. The minute the surgeon saw me he said its a complete rupture and surgery was needed the next day.

Its been 2 weeks since the surgery, I had my stitches and 1st cast removed last Friday & a new cast fitted. They said that the surgeon advocates the use of a boot instead of a cast for the final 2 weeks.
Can anyone out recommend the optimum rehab post surgery ?
I assume it will be at 3/4 weeks after the final cast is removed physio before I can go back to running, etc.

    Edit : I meant 3/4 weeks after physio :o
