    Nice idea but not very practical. The weight of curiosity alone would make it a non runner. Because of the cost of a Mars flight that weight would be better used for samples of mars itself. A far better idea would be to leave it in place to examine the effects of exposure on materials over time on the Martian surface and then put it in a Martian museum some time in the future.

    Considering the other week a 40 year old man broke like 4 world records in one event commercially funded, the sky diver in the balloon that reached 28 miles above the earth (2) jumped out (1) & broke mach 1 not enclosed in a vehicle (1) & landed safely (1) while testing a new space suit but to name some of his achievements, anything is possible with commitment & investment of time & effort...
