Buying a 2nd hand car-wait until Jan 2013?

    Hi,
Planning on buying a 2nd hand car through a garage as I'm trading in my 2002 Saab 93 (the Saab didn't pass the NCT so rather than spend a bit to fix it I'm happy with the trade in offer of about €1,500).

But just wondering am I better off waiting until Jan 2013?

    cheers,
    Pa.

Did you ask the dealer how much they will want off you for the same car in January?

Used cars don't magically drop by thousands on Jan 1st, contrary to popular belief.

Depends on what youre looking to buy. A 7 year old car thats for sale for a few grand probably wont drop that much in price (if at all), where as one year old car might see a price drop in the new year.

Some dealers may also want to clear stock towards the end of the year so that is something to also take into consideration.
