    From being robbed.

In town meeting a friend after the marathon. On our way back by south William street I saw two scobes eyeing up a bike. I stopped for a moment and the saw one open the QR on the front wheel.

So I walked up and told the to **** off and leave the bike, after some to and fro and one of them saying he would wrap the bike around my head I went to find a Garda, luckily town was full of them today.

He took it much more serious than I expected and ran back with me. They were gone but the bike wasn't. Made my day.

I don't expect the owner to have the bike for long however. Locked only with a cheap cable through the front wheel and nothing else.

Fair play to you. There's probably little chance that the owner will read your post, so we'll have to thank you on his/her behalf.

Imagine that for every new addition to the Stolen Bikes Thread, there was a contrasting tale of derring-do added here by vigilant(e) Boardsies. :D

    Go, Fearless Boardsies!!!

    Well done none the less!

    Well done OP.

On a similar topic, I spotted this "locked" bike recently.

Yep, saw this over the summer but never posted it. Some people deserve to get their bikes nicked...

...not that this in any way reflects on the wonderful random act of kindness the OP did. Someone owes you a pint, OP!
