    Hey guys,

I have a saorview approved tv so i went out and just bought an indoor aerial to try pickup the signal for saorview.

    I bought this:

    Its literally picking up nothing.
Should it be at least picking up something?

Could if be possible that the signal in kildare isnt string enough for this and i need a aerial on the roof?

    Yes.

The use of an indoor will depend on signal strength and quality where the indoor aerial is located.

Use the Saorview coverage checker to find the transmitter recommended for your area and then get the matching grouped aerial.

The TV network is designed for outdoor aerials 10 metres high.
Indoor aerials can work very close to transmitters. That one you bought is crap and designed for Holland which uses vertical polarisation. Send it back.

Less than 10% of locations are suitable for RELIABLE indoor reception. Even then one side of house may be much better than another and a €6 aerial on a windowsill with extension cable work better than €60 amplified aerial beside the TV.
