Valet with wet carpets

Im really annoyed at having paid €100 for a full valet having first asked if the carpets would be dry when I collected the car as I already had wet carpets on my last valet with a different place.
I collected the car to find the engine running and the car heater on full. I know my diesel takes an hour at tickover to get hot and noticed the low fuel light was on having had more than a quarter tank when I left the car in. I am disgusted they used my car in this way as its simply not good for it. To boot, I drove off with all the carpets still wet.
Just a heads up from me for anyone getting a valet.

Did you not complain/refuse to pay?

I did pay, and returned this morning to make my point. They did not really understand the point I was making and said 5 minutes with my heater on would dry the carpets. I then drove off.
They did a good job on other aspects of the valet I will admit, but I did specifically ask about dry carpets. I would never refuse to pay anyone for a job done but I wont go back for a repeat of offer a recomendation.

I'd be more miffed about the €20 odd diesel that's not there now

Just run the Air conditioning on the warm setting and it will dry them out alot quicker. Either that or throw a blow heater into the car and change its position every 1hr but keep an eye on it incase it would cause a fire.

Jesus .. I do everything I can to keep water out of the car, once its in there its a pain to get rid of it.

Theres a Valet place near my work in Germany and they stick a Dehumidifier in the car to dry it.

It would want to be running overnight to use 20 euros of diesel !!
