    I'm looking for a bag that I will use while travelling next year to hold a 15" laptop, a camera and a few of gadgetry items. It doesn't have to be a dedicated laptop bag(just be big enough to fit the laptop in it.

    I will have my backpack with all my clothes etc and then this day bag with all my essentials in it.

    I've asked this question in other forums and no one has suggested anything at all. I can't seem to find anything online myself so I'd appreciate any help from you guys.

    Thanks.

    Hi there,
    I know before you could purchase a backpack in Argos, padded, that could hold a laptop and other essentials. I couldn't locate the linkie just there,

    but I did find these though:
    ~ This is the same brand that they used to sell in Argos;
    ~ This on amazon also;
    or
    ~ Selection Here from ebags.

    All those are laptop backpacks.

    Would any of them be what you are looking for?

    Suggestions:
    - Avoid getting something that looks like a laptop bag (attractive to thieves, and they're ugly)
    - Appears to be made of strong material
    - Zips are easy to use (large tabs so you can undo them even with gloves)
    - Separate pockets for: water bottle, small items like tissues
    - Base is padded in some way (to protect laptop)
    - Adjustable straps (so you can wear on your back whether you're wearing several layers or just a T-shirt)
    - Waterproof
    - Don't keep mobile or wallet in the bag but on your person
    - Ensure it's within Ryanair's cabin baggage dimensions

    I usually get mine from cheap luggage shops in major cities like London and Paris.

    Thanks. Have you any suggestions on a bag?

    No, or I woud have suggested one. I could point you to a particular Parisian luggage shop, for example, and tell you I got a bag in the far left corner, but that woud be pointless for you.

    What I'm suggesting is it's easy to plump for bag only to find it's unsuitable in some way. For some decades I've travelled a huge amount, continually visiting places for the day, and so have used day bags a lot. I've made many mistakes when buying them, hence my list.

    This bag has the following features:

    1. 55x40x20cm iata max cabin luggage size.
    2. Waterproof.
    3. Strong material.
    4. Good reviews on amazon.

    This is none of my business, but if you are going travelling for an extended period of time, isn't a laptop a bit of a liability (unless you absolutely can't do without it)? You may find yourself worrying about whether it might get lost, stolen or damaged.

    Depending on your reason for bringing the laptop, there could be better alternatives.

    For instance, an ipod touch will allow you to use skype and email, it's far more portable than a laptop and the battery lasts much longer.

    Moving abroad so will be travelling for foreseeable future all going to plan. Need laptop for photo/video/website work so a tablet won't make the cut. I always travel with a laptop and have no problems... Only the bags I've used don't give great support or protection.
