How about this behaviour from Dublin manager Anthony Daly and a pal when Clarecastle was beaten by Kilmaley in a minor A final today.
Daly is a national figure-personally I think the guards need to look into this incident, and cerainly GAA head honchos should haul Daly over the coals and demand an explanation. With his position comes responsibility and a requirement to lead by example-too often we have seen thuggish behaviour on the field-maybe a severe sanction is needed to prove that the GAA does not endorse this type of behaviour. This happened after the final whistle was blown.

Daly is from Clare and the game was also in Clare.

Disgraceful. I hope all concerned in the incident are punished to the full extent of the powers available to the GAA authorities and if necessary have criminal prosecutions brought against them.

The fat bird in the background seems to warning the combatants that there is a photographer present.

Oh by the way I'm a Dub and played under-age hurling for my county - I don't remember seeing much of that ugly behaviour at matches.

Anyone that makes judgement on that picture alone doesn't deserve an opinion. Is there any credible article to go along with the picture to somehow justify you putting forward those pretty severe ramifications OP?

I have huge admiration for Daly, but he needs to get what's coming to him here.

    Two reasons.

The first, is that this is appalling for the image of the GAA. Incidents like these can't be just kept quiet anymore. If it's a significant incident like this one, people all over the country will know within hours.

The second, which is more important, is that this sh*t is simply not on. I've been involved in GAA my whole life, and that whole time I've had to endure rampaging idiots on the sideline, shouting and roaring and proud of it.

It's especially bad at underage level, where kids on the field of play are often on the receiving end of verbal abuse and intimidation from middle aged, overweight buffoons on the sideline doing their utmost to steep a sporting event in nastiness and bitterness.

Enough is enough. There are enough people within the GAA as without it who are sick to the teeth of this nonsense. It's not 'part' of any sporting culture that we want anything to do with.

Anthony Daly is a hero of mine, and I want the book thrown at him. It's high time a message was sent out.

    Absolute nonsense, infraction given.

As for this thread, I'm going to lock this. I cannot see it ending well, so I am nipping it in the bud now.
