Well done. Did a trip to Frankfurt years ago in a 'trade' Sierra bought 18hrs before - cam went noisy on return thru the UK but bought cheap kit and fixed it on return .

I love the red 'original' ZV plates - where did/can you get them .

Had 2 V6 Taunus coupés that went to Kilkenny years ago - wonder if they're still there

Lovely car, I bet the rear number plate raised a few eyebrows.
What were the differences between the 2000e and the GXL of the time?

The E is older than the GXL I think?

I love the old Minilite wheels ....

I brought my S Class to France. Had to drive from Bordeaux to Cherbourg to catch the ferry as the missus took ill. Got told off by the cops for averaging 145kph between tool booths !!

Other way round , GXl up to 73 and E onwards. Mainly trim difference , gxl had sloping dash and 2000e had the later (mk4) type , square lights as opposed to gxl four round...

Hi, great Photos. Is that the Sherman Tank just outside Roscof? Have done a few trips round Brittany and Normandy in out 1983 VW camper. Its refreshing to see how the French are happy to tip around in Renault 5's and the like. Or perhaps thats because of the Council and State property taxes! Iver in Cavan

Well done on the Retro Ford feature, I see the frog Taunus's have embraced (or were forced into )the nouveau style plates whereas over here we prefer the old red ones or ZV ( or preferably combined ! )
