If the clocks go back at 2am, do bars stay open for the extra hour?

Nah, they ignore it. The hour only officially changes when you go to sleep.

So when they close it's officially 1:30am?

Seems strange not to cash in on the extra hour...

other question - just bought a smart phone and i need to get up early tomorrow.

Does the phone take into account the change to winter time?

The bars think it is fine to stay open the extra hour breaking their licensing when the clocks go forward in May despite getting an extra hour tonight.

There won't be an extra hour in bars tonight!!

The clocks go back after the bars have closed. So the argument is redundant.

Be careful about the nitelink too. Found myself stranded a few months ago, no nitelink, no money for a taxi. It was horrific
