Why do you need 4x4? Will you be towing this trailer off-road?

Would your commercial insurance cover you out of work hours?

Is this moving of stuff is to do with your work and business???

Otherwize, the 1st thing you should do is check that you are legaly covered.

Imagine if you hired out a van or jeep to move your few bits and bobs, had an accident and then you found out your policy only covered you during hours of business/work.

Would your commercial insurance policy cover you to drive someone elses jeep/van that you have hired ???

I think the main problem you will find is renting a 4x4 with a towbar. Most companies I have ever dealt with will not supply vehicles with a hitch. The explanation I got was, the have no idea what you are going to pull with it, or the condition of the trailer. (wanted a truck with a hitch).

Murphys truck centre aka Vanrentals.ie hire out pajeros, but I don't think they have a towbar. I think there's a place in Bunclody in Wexford will hire both vehicle and trailer but not 100%.

It would be way easier to find a van with towbar to rent. Something like transit.
I asked did you need to go offroad, as then really van would be unsuitable.
Otherwise, it's probably better option than 4x4.

A good few of the Murphy's 4x4's have tow bars. There might be a minimum rental period though.
