Ok so i want to convert my personal page to a group/organisation

I am the social media co-ordinator for the organisation I am involved with but when setting up first (by someone else) it was set as a personal page.

I have downloaded my enhanced data file . I was wondering when i convert to a group page etc is there a way of uploading all downloaded info back onto group page so it still has and looks the same as if were the original personal page.

I would have alot of photos, events etc and I don't wan to have to start from scratch!

Thanks but still can't find answer..... After I download my data from Facebook & then convert to group page. it will only keep profile pic and transfer friends as likes etc but uploaded photos videos and comments wont transfer. thats why they recommend to download data file. i want to know how can I upload that data to my new group page? To get it back to the way it was but as a group page.

You might well be better off loading up the content bit by bit again. That will get more attention from your audience than a one-off migration.

No, you can't upload it again.

The download is so that you don't 'lose' the information that was on the page, but it doesn't allow you to auto upload it again. I assume it has to do with the fact that much of the content will have been from outside users and the potential for you to manipulate the data between download and reupload, but that's just a random guess.

As RaineyDay suggested, you can reupload the base content bit by bit manually. However you won't be able to retain the interactions/comments/external content that was part of the original profile.

Suppose will have to take the chance and change it to a group page. They say that if they find out a group like one I am in has a personal account they can delete it. Dunno if its true. Thanks for all your replies.

Just to be clear, a FB group is different to an FB page. For a business, you probably want a page, not a group - but either way, be sure you know what you're doing before you proceed.

OK, but the link posted above is for a FB page, not an FB group. I'm not sure if it is possible to convert a profile to a group. I guess you'd just have to go ahead with setting up the group, and then add the friends into the group. Make sure to make your own personal profile a group admin.
