Am I right in saying that none of those guests are on to plug other RTE shows?

    Not a single one?

This hasnt happened for over twenty years........surely they can fit Twink in there somewhere.

I'm sure they will slip in someone during the evening ... we are entering the 'Christmas Book and DVD plugging season' so there is usually a 'signing tomorrow in Easons' guest.

That's only a partial guestlist ... unless we are getting a two hour debate on Debt Forgiveness. Not even RTE would try that (or would they?)

As it's Halloween maybe Mr. T could dress up as a "chat show entertainment" presenter?.....

    Or maybe not.

    :(

I read today somewhere Amy Huberman is supposed to be on as well......She certainly has the PR guff going.....Pictures of scans all around I suppose....Herself and the hubby seem to think if the dinner is burnt we should all know about it....

Ah well, we can flick over and back to Daniel Craig on GNorton...;)

Then we can have a little jig!....:D:D:D

I saw that about Amy, gsw, it was widely reported but the woman herself denies everything

Hi folks. Getting tweets about Late late tomorrow. Not on til next week. And it will be to talk about release of new book.
Ps no interest in just going on and doing interviews about my personal life. You can slap me in the face with a fish if I ever do that.

Still, something to look forward to next week - I like how she is upfront that she is only going on to plug her book, and not talk about her pregnancy.

She had been lined up for the Saturday Night Show before the Court Case. Apparently RTE think she is too pally with Ryan to give him a decent interview

The Irish Independent has learned that the partner of the late Gerry Ryan had been lined up to go on the 'Saturday Night Show' after RTE bosses directed that she should not appear on the 'Late Late Show' due to her friendship with Ryan Tubridy.

Ms Verwoerd was in negotiations to go on Brendan O'Connor's 'Saturday Night Show' up until yesterday, but that has now been put on hold.

I really spend waaaay too much time reading up on this rubbish :(:D

Just for the craic, here is Graham Norton's lineup tomorrow. BBC1 10.35pm

Graham is shaken and stirred in tonight's show, a special edition devoted to new James Bond film Skyfall - with a guest line-up to match. Not only will Oscar-winners Dame Judi Dench and Javier Bardem - who play 007's no-nonsense boss M and his new adversary in this latest outing - be appearing on the sofa, but they will be joined by Daniel Craig, who has made the role of Ian Fleming's masterspy very much his own over the past couple of films

Why anyone would want to watch that while RTE are discussing Mortgage Debt Relief, I have no idea

Really? She's a total snob, can't stand her. Late Late Show is gone to the dogs, national embarrassment with that twat Tubridy

I think that is very unfair, anyone I know who has met her had nothing but good things to say about Clare. You shouldn't label someone because of their accent.

He's an interesting character, it won't be apparent in an interview with tubs, but he's definitely interesting.

looking forward to hear tubs try to make sense of lars tactics in this years all ireland

I didn't say anything about her accent? I don't label anyone over where they come from. She abused one of my friends on national television in front of millions of people. She's the last person in the world who should be commenting on someones appearance!

She also basically stated that Rebecca Adlington's bronze medal in London was a failure and made her feel very small I think. She already won 2 gold medals before, how many did you win Claire? None I think... Great to have Lar on tonight!

Abused should not be a word that is used lightly.

And there is nothing wrong with Clare Balding's appearance.

I hope you're not referring to the Liam Treadwell "teethgate"

If you are, it was all meant in good humour. There was nothing malicious about it, and Treadwell got a free set of teeth out of it afterwards ;)

I can't stand listening to Tubridy on the radio never mind watching him on the idiots lantern, the guy is such a **** interviewer with a massive ego.
Seriously rte can't you do better than this, the funny thing is Tubridy himself knows he is crap and is like a disruptive schoolboy who cannot believe his luck that he is getting away with it.

Ah, she made a mistake but as Harry Angstrom pointed out, it wasn't malicious and he got a free treatment from it (and his teeth look great now)

I strongly doubt that Clare is the sort of person who would see any silver or bronze medal as a failure...

And I'm pretty sure that what she meant there was that Adlington would see that 800m freestyle bronze as a failure at first. And she meant it in the best possible way, too.

I like Clare a lot, I think that she is very knowledgeable and passionate about sport, especially horse racing. I really hope Tubs doesn't dwell too much on her brush with Thyroid Cancer and her former issues with eating disorders.

Here she is pictured on the November 2012 edition of Diva magazine, it looks like there is a serious amount of airbrushing going on :eek:

did not like her very different reactions to the 16 year old Chinese swimmer winning the women's 400m IM and the 15 year old American swimmer winning the 800m freestyle. My opinion of her went way down after that

So you'd prefer her to be one of those boring anodyne sports presenters that we see all too often on British TV? Considering the fact that the use of performance enhancing drugs is rampant in so many sports, I think she has a right to question things.

I think she was more concerned with the fact that Rebecca Adlington had only finished 3rd behind the American swimmer at the time. Presumably if Clare Balding had questioned Ledecky's performance you'd now be accusing her of being a sore loser and biased towards the British swimmer?

no just very biased against the Chinese swimmer , and no questioning of the American one, despite being a year younger. I would expect her to be pro british athletes , is she not british herself and commentating for their national station ? i would be more worried if she was questioning the british athletes.

she is neither Chinese or American , yet she choose to judge the two swimmers very differently.

Brendan Burgess is talking about Debt Recovery tonight.

Anyone who took his advice on Bank Shares would have suffered a thundering crash. He makes Jim Power look like a sage.

Excellent. He finished with "I might regret it later"

He needn't worry I'm sure Tubs won't ask awkward questions.

So it is either watch Tubridy convince the Irish people that FF and its cronies were not responsible for the economic mess or Derren Brown convince one man that there has been an apocalyse. Hard decision. :)
