Hi my drivers side window has stopped working yet all other windows work fine. Can this be solved easily and is this a common problem?

There are a couple of different things that could be wrong, the window regulator could be broken, the window switches could be faulty or the door control unit might be at fault. Does the window try to move but just makes a crunching sound?

That sounds like a faulty window regulator.

Most likely window regulator, common VAG problem, ballpark guess E120 to E150 for a genuine one, me personally I would not bother with a secondhand one as it is a common problem or an aftermarket one as sometimes the quality can be a bit iffy, i.e. last six months....
