Have my car a month, having been bought fully serviced. Brought it in today for the NCT and it needs to be brought back in to get it passed. The anti roll bar dust cover is worn on the passengers side  . Firstly i am pissed off that a car i have only had for such a short period should fail (I have a warranty but its an hour and a half to get to the garage. How big/small a job is this? Its a Seat Leon and there is a small noise that I get from the that passenger tyre while on poor roads, could that be causing the noise?

If going back to the garage is such hassle why on earth did you buy the car from the garage without first getting them to NCT it? You should have put it as a condition of the sale. It would have been alot easier to get them to do before you handed over any money. Now your choices are you either go back to the garage and get them to sort it or pay for it yourself.

If its the same as a sway bar, which im pretty sure it is, its part of the suspension. Not too sure whether or not its expensive to be repaired :S how old it the car?

    Its 2008.

They gave me the money back so i could NCT it myself. I was carless following a crash and the NCT they had booked close to their garage would have meant waiting a few weeks to get the car.

They gave you the nct fee?
That was a bit smart. Id bring it back with fail sheet. It's not that far away. Nothing major any way.

Costs nothing to go into your nearest garage and ask them how much.. mention it being a 2nd opinion kind of thing so they might try give a cheaper deal to get the sale off you. If its too steep i'd trek back to that garage and have them do it. I presume thats all that was wrong with the car? did u get an nct report?

Were the circumstances different I would have obviously demanded the NCT be completed by them but i was in desperate need for a car. I have a 6 month warranty so they should have no problem doing it (think the warranty is just gearbox and engine though)

Folester you are probably right. Ill price it in a local garage and anything €30 or under would be more economical than driving to Dublin.
Yes that was the only issue with the car, only on one suspension and I have a month to get it repaired or I have to go through the test again

Deffo get it sorted within the month anyway. I'd the same problem with an old polo and it took me 3 times to pass, twice having to pay a full fee. Best of luck with it anyway
