Does anyone think u should be able to pay off the rest of your fare in cash, so lets say your fare is 2.15, but you had 1 euro on leap card, you should be able to pay off the 1.15 in cash!

No as it defeats the purpose of a cashless card :)

Top up the card and use it for trips in the future.

You can still use it. Next time you top up it takes off what you owe on the fare you didn't have enough for. Happens me all the time. I had €1.30 on my card and used it for a €1.80 trip. Next time I topped up by €10, €9.50 went on my card and the outstanding .50c was taken automatically.

If you have just 1 cent on your card you should be able to use it for one journey which will use the built in deposit on the card.

Next time you top up the deposit is replenished back to €5 so if you used €2.75 of the deposit and top up by €20 your "cash" balance will be €17.25.

For the airlink 747 service you need a minimum of €1 as the leap fare on this is €6.

when you bought the card there would have been 5 euro charged as a deposit in case you go into a negative balance.

if its like the old irishrail card, you can get this 5 euro refunded for a low 10 euro fee

Anyone else having problem with topping up online?

When I click to top up my card, the green loading circle just keeps rotating.

    EDIT: Got it
