I was on the EI Chicago flight today and it parked up in T1. We had to walk over to T2 to clear immigration which was empty. Anyone know why?

At certain periods of the morning all Pier E (T2) stands are full. Not all stands on E will accomodate a widebody aircraft. At these time the aircraft go to Pier B and passengers take the corridor to T2. The aircraft is usually towed back onto e whwn a stand becomes available.

Fairly regular occurrence esp during the summer. As said pier e is just not big enough. Many passengers have a huge grievance with having to walk from b to t2 but in reality it's a shorter walk than from stand 404 or 405.

Typical Irish planning, lets build something, but just big enough for the' it will do now ' mentality
