Prem Div team - Rogers; O’Brien, McGuinness, Peers, Bermingham; O’Connor, Finn, Chambers, McLaughlin; Quigley, North

PFAI Player of the Year Nominees - Ronan Finn (Shamrock Rovers), Jason McGuinness (Sligo), Sean O’Connor (St Pat’s), Mark Quigley (Sligo)

    PFAI ‏@PFAIOfficial
Young Player of the Year Nominees - David Cawley (Sligo), Chris Forrester (St Pat’s) and Sean Maguire (Waterford)

Reckon Finn and Forrester will take the players awards.

/also Rovers intend on signing most of that team :D Solid scouting exercise :D

    Danny Ventre should be there.

I'd like to see Mcguinness and Cawley get the awards but I'd say it'll be Quigley and Forrester

Think Kevin Dawson should have made that tbh over Chambers.

From a Rovers perspective, there has to be an 'anyone except Ronan Finn' player of the year award to be fair to the rest of the squad and also a 'favourite Ronan Finn moment' of the year award..

Finn aside who would you give it to? They've all been rubbish.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 15,721 Mod ✭✭✭✭dfx-

    Jansson

Favourite Finn moment would be the equaliser in Cork, closely followed by the winner in Derry, closely followed by the equaliser against Sligo, closely followed by etc etc.

They must have been worse than I thought if Jansson was your second best player.

As I have said numerous times throughout the season, it's the worst Rovers team in 5 years. Maybe you're realising it too at last. Jansson won YPOTY as far as I know last week.

    Rovers won the league:confused:

Kevin Dawson not being in at least the young POTY nominees is ridiculous

The team in second place gets nobody onto the team of the year and strangely it makes sense. Individual players in the league are better in all positions but it just shows what spirit and fitness Mick Cooke installed in the Drogs.
Having said all that I would prefer Sava to Rogers.

Players who do the voting and Shels are rubbish.

Would have Fagan in ahead of North due to time on the pitch but North fit for the season would have it in the bag.

And we would of been even more rubbish if it wasn't for Dawson practically carrying the team for most of the season. He only had one bad match that I saw him in and he was still our best player that night.

I can only assume Evan Mcmillan was left out to give everyone else a chance

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

    No McMillan or McEvoy?

    Boo-urns.

Think most Bohs fans would agree with Jannson as Rovers POTY.

Fantastic knock down for Devaney's goal in Tallaght as well :)

Every single Shams player that day can be proud of their achievements.

    McCabe surely?

I thought Connor Winn was the Rovers 'keeper. Is he injured or just second choice?

Jansson's been their 1st choice pretty much all season as far as I know

Injured with a back problem all season. He's third choice too, Id guess.

Pound for pound, Philly is undoubtedly the best striker in the league

His swearing at Kenny in Monaghan and almightily frustrating tendency for running inside to traffic has driven me mad at times. Also leaving no cover behind him/no tracking back.

Laws may have found a way to let him do that and cover the wings in the past couple of games by putting Greene/Brennan/Dennehy on the wing behind him. He has been much more effective, especially at home to UCD.
