Anyone know if its fairly common practice for asbestos to be found in properties in crumlin. I know that a lot of corporation houses in Marino have absetos in the plasterboard ceilings but I am looking to go sale agreed on a property in crumlin and have had a survey done and the surveyor noted that absetos may be present. He suggested a specialist survey.

Has anyone worked on houses or had houses in the area?

As far as I know, asbestos was used as a filler material around flues in the chimneys. Also, the artex ceiling boards used in the 80s (and before, i think) contains a moderate level of asbestos. I worked on a large project recently that needed specialist contractors to remove the artex ceiling boards.

I recommend you get a building survey, architect, engineer or other qualified professional to inspect the property and provide recommendations. Alternatively, you could go directly to an approved asbestos removal contractor however it is in their interest to scope up the works.

    Hope this helps.
