    Hi,
Recently picked up a bike with record 10speed throughout. Was wondering as for chain what works for replacement? Is it record chains only?

No, any ten speed chain will work with it.

Any Campag 10 speed chain will work perfectly, but using a Shimano or Sram 10 speed won't work well and is not advised

It's never been an issue for me nor have I seen it reported as one. I've had numerous 10 speed Shimano chains and KMC chains on Campagnolo 10 speed without issue. All 10 speed chains are now around 5.9mm in width.

The fact that all third party chain manufacturers make 10 speed chains without specifying what drivetrain they're for indicates that it ought not be a problem.

Apologies, I had presumed the 10 speed Campag were 6.1, but checked and they were reduced to 5.9 so Viadimir is correct, though personally I can't see why you would stick a shimano chain on the bike with Record

Price I assume. Record chains are a tad ridiculously expensive.

In terms of durability I've found Campag chains to be the best, followed by KMC. Shimano chains didn't last me candlelight I found.

Once I'd discovered that, the only times I ended up using Shimano was a.) I had one lying around and b.) it was an emergency and the only thing they had in the shop.

Yep. I've always gone for the cheaper consumbles myself, i.e. chains and cassettes. Find it hard to justify spending more for small weight savings on something that is going to be thrown out eventually.
