    Hi,
I have a built in car tv (2006). Does anyone know what would be the best thing to do in order to get tv signal back in the car? I used to get the few channels on the aerial but now I guess I wont with the switch to saorview.
Is this just unfortunate or does anyone know of a solution? I am guessing that the regular saorview box would not be compatible, or would it?
    Thanks..confused.png

May be possible to use a Saorview box if the TV has an aux input. You would alsn need an inverter to get a 240 volt supply.

The screen (dvd player) in my car has an aux input and i use one of these, and it works a treat around Dublin.

RTE2 hd has not come up on the channel list scan, and i have just been to lazy to look up the frequency and key it in manually, but i see no reason why i shouldnt work.

does it have a scart socket ?
(you can get composite from scart too)

if so then saorview boxes run on 12V (mostly)

BEWARE THAT THE "12V" IN A CAR CAN BE FROM 11V TO 14.4V !
you may need a regulated adaptor - but you probably already have for the TV

RTE 2 is on the same frequency as the other Saorview channels. The receiver probably doesn't support the MPEG4 profile level used.

No DTT TV set from 2006 supports Saorview. The MPEG-4 high profile level 4.0 support did not arrive before well into 2008.

The receiver can be used in NI for the UK/NI SD channels - and not much else.

Peter Rhea sorry about that,i didnt know they were all on the same frequency.I thought i could just enter one and things would be fine.
I have done a rescan and all TV and digital radio come in twice for some reason,But not RTE2 hd.There seems to be a weeks EPG but RTE2 is not listed on it.
I guess i wont get RTE2 then.I knew when i was buying the kit last year that i was taking a gamble weather it would work or not,but the spec said it was HD and mpeg4 so i took the punt.
