    Hi,

I have Music in my Google Drive cloud.

I downloaded DriveTunes app to play music from here but does not work.
Gives option to play song with DriveTunes but just does not play the song.

Anyone use this? Or any experience with this?

    Thanks!

Can you not just use Google Play?

Google Play only offers Apps in Ireland. No music yet :(

Sign up using Tunnelbear and sideload the app on your phone.

From then on, Google Play will work without any problems outside of the US. You can upload music and stream to your phone.

Is there a guide for getting Google Play Music to work in Ireland?

    It's fairly simple.

Use something called TunnelBear (guides online) or a similar Proxy (I used FoxyProxy for Firefox) to set up a US proxy. Google will help you out here. All you really need to configure is the IP Address and Port of the proxy.

Once you have that set up, go to play.google.com/music and sign in with you google account. This will set you up with access to google Play Music. Unless you want to buy music from the store (which requires a US Credit Card) you can get rid of your proxy now.

Next, download the Music Manager application for your PC and start uploading music to the cloud. Now when you go to play.google.com/music you will see your music library.

Next, install the Play Music App on your Android phone, this can be found on XDA. You will now have access to all the music you uploaded on your phone.

I have been using this for about a year now and I love it. Instant access to all my music. I have to point out that the data usage is pretty big. Most months I use over 2GB's of data on my phone listening to music, but I commute everyday and get through a lot of music.

You can use an Irish credit card to buy music from Google Music once you have signed up with them. I just entered a US Zip code and it worked fine. Some good deals on there.

Nice, I tried it initially when the store opened in the States and I couldn't get music with my card. I will have to try it again now.

Ehm... The link I provided was to the APK file. Just download, install and 'Play'.

    Hi,

OK I have installed Google Music apk from XDA on Android. How do I play my music stored on the cloud from this?

Do I have to go in through Tunnelbear?

    Thanks!

You have to sign up for the service from the "US" that's where the likes of tunnelbear or any other kind of vpn or proxy come in.

Ok trying to do this method, but to even download the music manager you need to verify with a us credit card. Any way around this?

Just bought an album from google play and used the music manager to download the music to my laptop!

The only thing it didn't give me the option of which songs to download! I had download my album with rest of the free songs available! About 30 extra songs i think! It's there any better music manager for Google Music?

Google really want's you to keep your music in the cloud I think!

Not practical for me I am on midband with a limited download of 15gb!

If there isn't a proper music manager, I will probably go back to get my music from 7digital - more expensive!

download it from the web-app. you can download a whole album or track-by-track. if you're using it on your phone there's also the option to pin tracks (ie they get cached onto the phone for offline listening).

I noticed the download option on web option, but it limits you 2 downloads per song!

I have xperia u phone which has very limited 8gb storage, I use an OTG cable and a usb stick to play my music from.

This post on digitaltrends from January 27, 2012 seems that others are frustrated with it to.

That's over a year ago, so I don't see google changing there music manager anytime soon!
