    alot of vans have painted back windows, cant see how it would be illegal for a passenger car and legal for every thing else.

    That's why asked what's the sticker off. You can paint it black if you want. There is n. law ban it.

    I am prety sure OP just pissed of Garda. Maybe sticker is a bit cheeky etc.

    For conformation
    Road Safety Authority (Tel: 091 872 600)

    I'm unaware of any legislation covering visibility through rear of a passenger vehicle and google is also unaware.

    If you do have a rear sticker that could be offensive or you did something to aggravate the situation then It is understandable and id let it go.

    i wont lie trying to conform whether on not this has been repealed but a quick google search will bring you back this
    http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/1963/en/si/0190.html#zzsi190y1963a34
    which states..
    34. (1) Every vehicle and trailer, and all parts and equipment of every vehicle and trailer, shall be maintained in good and efficient working order, and shall be such and so maintained that no danger is liable to be caused thereby.

    (2) Without prejudice to the generality of sub-article (1) of this article—

    (a) all steering gear shall be maintained in good and efficient working order and shall be properly adjusted;

    (b) all glass and all safety glass fitted to a vehicle shall be maintained in such a condition that it does not obscure the vision of the driver while the vehicle is being driven and shall be kept free of inessential objects or inessential stickers;

    (c) every windscreen wiper which is required to be fitted under these Regulations shall be maintained in good and efficient working order and shall be properly adjusted;

    (j) the exhaust pipe on a vehicle and all apparatus connected therewith shall be so fitted, and shall be maintained in such condition, as to prevent fumes, as far as possible, from entering the vehicle;
    i dunno this might have been revoked by a more recent piece of legislation ...

    Considering you paid €30 for a sticker, it would suggest otherwise....

    Is it a silent sticker? If it doesn't sound like a beehive farting into a megaphone every time you drop your right foot OP, its legal in my book.

    @challengemaster-its the detail in the sticker that made it so expensive!, nope endacl pure standard car. Going to just leave it on although i dont like to fall out with traffic core but i dont see why its a problem, maybe his wife just wasnt putting out the night before!! :)
