Just a quick question lads about Dabs as I have found a laptop on their site that suits my needs and pocket.
Primarily, are they reputable and has anyone here bought from them before?
Secondly, are they actually based in the UK with just an ie sister website to their .com one?
Lastly, as there is a price difference in the quoted euro and sterling prices on the respective websites, can I order off the UK site and save myself a few euro?

    Thanks in advance.

Based in the UK with an Irish registered web shop. So you can do your patriotic duty and pay your VAT at home.

    Cheers mate. appreciate your reply
Bye the way, even if I did use the UK site do I not pay the extra VAT as an Irish customer.
I am pretty certain that when buying from Amazon the final purchase price goes up slightly when having it delivered to the ROI.
I has assumed that the difference between Euro and Sterling prices, about 5%, were solely down to favourable exchange rates used by Dabs

I got a little netbook there about 4 yrs ago, when they didn't have an Irish domain and I'm pretty sure I paid the price as advertised, no extra VAT added.

I ordered a new router thinking that ordering from an Irish website would automatically mean that it would be suitable for use in Ireland. Unfortunately, they only supply modems that are for BT connections and consequently does not fit the Eircom socket. It never mentioned on the order that it was for BT connections but it says it on the box.
This is misleading and they really do not have an Irish connection only an Irish website. They are entirely based in Bolton, UK and the contact telephone number that is offered to us is a premium rate number which costs a fortune to call internationally. I will not be using Dabs.ie again.

It depends when ordering from any eu company.. You will pay Irish vat if that company are Irish vat registered (if they have over €35000 in sales to Irish non registered customers its conpulsary to register for vat in ireland) and charge customers in ireland vat @ 23% and pay it to the Irish revenue..

I have bought from dabs.ie quite often because they had free delivery and their prices were always very good.
I am not sure if they have free delivery anymore though :(

trying to buy off dabs.ie at the moment but their bank refuses to deal with mine via maestro. Contacted my bank who said that if it is a .ie site there should be no problem. I'm waiting on one more 'payment declined' email before I cancel the order and go elsewhere. Too close to xmas for this crap.
