Hard Drive problem

    hi all

    i'm hoping someone could help me in finding some software to test my hard drive. i believe its faulty.

    any help would be much appreciate

    The manufacturers website will have a downloadable diagnostic.

    CrystalDiskInfo is a good program for displaying SMART info but you will need someone to interpret it.

    What OS u using? There should be a tool already available for surface scan etc.

    Vivard or MHDD on the UBCD are excellent tools for running a surface scan of the drive. SMART is useful in many cases but it's not very relyable. A surface scan will tell you if the drive has bad sectors/other issues. If the drive does backup and replace :)

    try get a hold or hirens boot cd. ive always found it quite usefull.
